Kaveri engine is an indigenous gas turbine engine designed and developed by DRDO's Gas Turbine Research Establishment. It is a low bypass twin spool turbo fan engine of 80 kiloNewton thrust class. Over the years the it has gone through several tests both on ground and mid air . However it was not used for indigenously developed LCA Tejas.
