The winners included a host of cinema stars from all across the country.

Underscoring the importance, reach and influence of cinema, Vice President Naidu had a special message for the people who drive the powerful medium of Indian cinema.

Calling Cinema an instrument of social change ... the Vice President asked film makers to focus on its utility to educate people and bring about changes in attitudes to combat social ills.

He also called upon the film fraternity to curb the depiction of violence, vulgarity and obscenity, given its impact on youngsters.
