विषय विवरण (Topic Description):

देश में लेखा परीक्षकों यानी ऑडिटर्स के लिए जल्द ही एक स्‍वतंत्र विनियामक संस्था एनएफआरए काम करने लगेगी। केन्‍द्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने एनएफआरए की स्‍थापना प्रस्‍ताव को मंज़ूरी दी है। एनएफआरए में एक अध्‍यक्ष के अलावा तीन पूर्णकालिक सदस्‍य और सचिव की नियुक्ति की जा रही है। सरकार को उम्मीद है कि इस संस्था से न सिर्फ ऑडिटर्स की प्रभावी निगरानी की जा सकेगी बल्कि निवेश, आर्थिक विकास, अंतर्राष्‍ट्रीय मानकों के मुताबिक़ कारोबार और लेखापरीक्षा व्‍यवसाय के विकास में भी मदद मिलेगी।

The Union cabinet has approved a proposal to establish National Financial Reporting Authority (NFRA) as an independent regulator for the auditing profession, in an attempt to tighten regulatory oversight over chartered accountants and plug loopholes. It will be an independent body. It has been given more powers than the Institute of Chartered Accountants in India (ICAI), the existing self-regulatory organization for auditors.
