Status of Naxalite Violence in India

Naxal violence spread has been a serious threat on India's internal security system in recent months. Recently, In Sukma district of Chhattisgarh, Naxals blasted IED, in which 9 soldiers of 206 Cobra Battalion are injured and one soldier is dead. Naxal and Maoist violence affected districts of Chhattisgarh include : Balod, Balrampur, Bastar, Bijapur, Dantewada, Dhamtari, Gariyaband, Kanker, Kondagaon, Mahasamund, Narayanpur, Rajnandgaon, Sukma, Kabirdham.

An encounter also took place between security forces and Naxalites in West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand . It's note worthy here that out of 23 districts of Jharkhand , 19 are listed as left wing extremist affected areas according to the report of Ministry of Home affairs of india .

Naxal and Maoist violence affected districts of Jharkhand include : Bokaro, Chatra, Dhanbad, Dumka, East Singhbhum, Garhwa, Giridih, Gumla, Hazaribagh, Khunti, Koderma, Latehar, Lohardaga, Palamu, Ramgarh, Ranchi, Simdega, Saraikela-Kharaswan and West Singhbhum.

Police and Border Security Force (BSF) in a joint operation also killed one Naxalite in Malkangiri of Odisha. Heavy weapons were recovered from him.

Forces under the anti-Naxal operations have killed altogether 20 Maoists (14 in Chhattisgarh and six in Odisha), apprehended 1702 Maoists (1099 in Chhattisgarh and 603 in Odisha), and made 883 Maoists surrender (89 in Chhattisgarh and 794 in Odisha).

According to ministry of Home affairs , 90 districts in 11 States are considered as affected by Left Wing Extremism (LWE). In Andhra Pradesh the districts include : East Godavari, Guntur, Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, West Godavari.

In Bihar left wing extremist affected districts include : Arwal, Aurangabad, Banka, East Champaran, Gaya, Jamui, Jehanabad, Kaimur, Lakhisarai, Munger, Muzaffarpur, Nalanda, Nawada, Rohtas, Vaishali, West Champaran.

In Kerala 3 districts are included in the list . These are : Malappuram, Palakkad, Wayanad while In Madhya Pradesh 2 districts are listed as left wing extremist affected districts : Balaghat, Mandla

In Maharashtra 3 districts which are included are : Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia. While in Odisha these districts include : Angul, Bargarh, Bolangir, Boudh, Deogarh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabrangpur, Nayagarh, Nuapada, Rayagada, Sambhalpur, Sundargarh.

In Telangana 8 districts are there in the list: Adilabad, Bhadradri-Kothagudem, Jayashankar-Bhupalpally, Khammam, Komaram-Bheem, Mancherial, Peddapalle, Warangal Rural.

In Uttar Pradesh 3 districts namely Chandauli, Mirzapur and Sonebhadra and

In West Bengal 1 district Jhargram is included in the list of left wing extremist affected districts.
