About
Justice Ramana will take over the charge of 48th CJI of India from 24th April. He would be the CJI till August 26, 2022.
Andhra Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy filed a complaint against Justice Ramana to the CJI on October 6 last year that he was influencing the Andhra High Court judiciary to destabilise his government. However, dismissed under an in-house procedure after due consideration. It is to be noted that all the matters dealt with under the In-House Procedure being strictly confidential in nature, are not liable to be made public.
The complaint was sent because bench led by Justice Ramana started hearing and fast-tracking hundreds of criminal cases against Ministers, legislators and politicians pending in trial courts across the country.
