Space MAITRI Mission
- The Space MAITRI (Mission for Australia-India’s Technology, Research, and Innovation) enhance sustainable space operations through the partnership between Space Machines Company, an Australian-Indian in-space servicing firm, and NSIL.
- Optimus spacecraft, the largest Australian-designed and built spacecraft to date, using India's Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV) in 2026.
Objectives
- It aims to tackle key challenges such as debris management, technological innovation, and ensuring sustainability in space operations.
- Strengthening ties between commercial, institutional, and governmental space organizations in Australia and India
