This elongated tortoise was observed in the Damdama area of ​​Haryana during a research survey in the Aravallis.

      Habitat: This species, also known as the Sal forest tortoise, inhabits open deciduous forest areas, including Sal and evergreen forest habitats, dry thorn forests and savanna grasslands.

      Distribution: This species is widely distributed in northeastern India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Malaysia.

      A population of this tortoise is present in the Chota Nagpur Plateau of eastern India.
